Review: F1 2011 Playstation Vita

F1 2011 for PlayStation Vita features all the official teams, drivers and circuits from the thrilling 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship. Tuned for portable play, get your Formula One fix by entering individual Grand Prix, and Time Trials or compete for motorsport’s ultimate prize across a full season. Perfect for on-the-move gaming, an additional extensive challenge modes puts your skills to the test with a range of quick-fire events featuring checkpoint, gate and overtaking objectives.

The Good

The Gameplay. It's fast and extremely intense. You'll need 100% focus on every move your make. A mistake can have an disastrous outcome.

Skill options. You have lot of choices how the game should behave. Auto gearing, assisted breaks, assisted steering, damage to the cars, penalties and much more. Everyone will find a decent skill level that will fit their needs.

The race tracks. All the official tracks are included in the game.

The drivers. All the official drivers are included in the game as well. So if you always wanted to win over Sebastian Vettel then this is the game for you.

The graphics. It's pretty good. Fast and lifelike with a lot happening on the screen.

The sound. Nice F1 engine sounds combined with different environmental sounds. You even have a coach that will talk to you through a com radio how well you're performing during the races. Really cool.

The lasting appeal. Quick race, Time trial, Multiplayer and Career mode. The Career mode is huge and will keep you going for a lot of hours.

The Bad

The graphics. Yes I know, I did put the graphics as a good thing. However, it's not the best looking game out there. They could've worked more on the details of the game.

Playing online. Sadly you can only play against 4 (maximum) players online.

Conclusion

When I was a kid I used to love playing the Microprose F1 games. I loved the intense battles against other drivers and the realism of damaging the car and more. F1 2011 PlayStation Vita version brings back that joy again. The career feature will get you hooked right away. I play it all the time now. So all you F1 and racing fans this game might be worth looking into. With a long lasting appeal and fast action the F1 2011 PlayStation Vita gets the score:

7 out of 10
