Earlier this summer I wanted to buy myself a Kindle. I had my vacation coming up and I wanted to read some books. Being the tech nerd I proudly am, I certainly wanted a digital device. I checked the possibilities of ordering it here in Sweden and found only one company who sold the latest edition of kindle. The price was too high. I then checked Amazon and found out that it was much cheaper then ordering it from Sweden. As a matter of fact with the shipping fee and taxes It did cost 700 SEK (106$) less. Stunning really!
With no doubt in my mind I ordered the Kindle from Amazon. That was on the 23rd June. I got a confirmation mail that it would arrive the 28th June. Only 5 days to deliver it? It was over the weekend as well. Too good to be true I thought. The 28th June arrived and I really got the package right on time. Incredible!!! It took only 5 days for it to arrive at my house via UPS.
Purchasing books for your kindle couldn't be easier. You have two choices. Buy straight from their site online or connect your kindle thru Wifi or 3G based if you have the 3G version. Choose a book and within seconds it will be transfered to your Kindle. It doesn't get any easier than that.
A neat little feature that Amazon uses is recommendations based on which books you've bought earlier. For instance I bought the Game of thrones book set. A Couple of days later when I logged on with my account I got recomended to buy the 5th book in the series, A Dance With Dragons. I didn't even know there was a fifth book.
The selection. Amazon has a huge selection. Gigantic really. You can find basically anything your looking for when it comes to books.
Reviews. Being the largest online store in the world a lot of people leave their own reviews which will come very handy if you are hesitating on buying an item. For an exampel the book A song of ice and Fire have 2073 reviews that will help you make up your mind wheter you want to purchase it or not.
The bad
There is nothing much to say here. The site might be a bit unsystematic at first but after a while you'll get familiar with the it.
Cunclusion
It goes without saying if your going to buy books, Amazon.com is the place to go. Fast shipment, great prices and worldwide delivery.
