I just bought the QPAD MK-80 which is a mechanical keyboard. Now what does that mean? The QPAD has it's own Cherry MX Blue Switches which means the keyboard will have a much longer lifetime than a usual keyboard.
The keyboard makes a nice and great clicking sound when you type on it. The QPAD with it's Cherry MX Blue Switches is best for using on FPS games rather then MMO and RTS beacuse you will need to press the keys a bit harder than usually do on a normal non mechanical keyboard. Trust me it's just marvelous typing on this keyboard.
The good
The keys. The feels so great when they are pressed.
Backlit. Every key ... yes every singel key has a led light under them which make the keyboard look so cool in a darker enviroment. You can adjust the brightness level on these as well.
USB. The keyboard also works as a USB hub. You can connect 2 USB devices located above the keyboard. You can connect your headset into the keybord as well.
Wrist-pad. The QPAD comes with a wrist pad that gives you a great grip and a nice support for your wrist. It can be detached if you wish not use it.
Quality. It's feels like it has a great quality. The keyboard is quite heavy and sturdy which makes it hold it's position at your desk.
Spare keys. You get 4 spare keys to replace your WASD keys if they will break or wear out.
The bad
The price. It's really expensive. But I think it will be worth it in the long run because of it's quality.
USB hub. My Logitech G35 headset didn't work through the keyboard. Any ideas how to solve this?
The key sound. It's loud. And if you got company at home or if you're at a LAN your friends will complain.
Conclusion
This is my first mechanical keyboard so I cannot compare with other mechanical keyboard but compared to regular keyboards this one is a killer. It feels so great that I almost find myself typing on the keys just to feel and hear the keys. I've played Rage and Dead Island with the keyboard and it is just smashing for FPS games. I haven't tried any MMO or RTS games yet but I think it will work well despite what the expert says.
Score 9 out of 10
