The good
The sound. I really had my doubts. This headset is suppose to simulate 7.1 surround. After some installing and tweaking I tried Deus Ex out. It sound simply amazing. It has a wide sound with great bass just like the real deal. Of course you cannot compare the headset to an ordinary 7.1 speaker setup but it certainly sounds good and it is perfect for my needs.
The buttons. There are 5 buttons located on the left side. Three buttons where you can control apps like Winamp. For instance Play, Forward and Back. A volume wheel is located under these buttons as well as the mic button. On the side of the headset there is a button that toggles the 7.1 feature and 2.1 Stereo.
They are comfortable. They fit your head great. But I have read some reports that people with larger heads have had some problems with the fit.
The mic. It cancels the backgrounds noise pretty well. I tried it out at Skype with my friend and there were not much noise from my TV that was turned on.
Voice morphs. A fun little feature is the voice morphs. You can choose from 8 different morph like Alien, Squirrel and Troll. You will have a laugh using these trust me.
The bad
They are a bit heavy. You feel the weight on your head and I think after several hours of usage it might tire.
USB. The headset is connected via USB. That means that if you have fancy sound card you won't be able to use it.
The chord. It is really stiff. It might loosen up after a while but right now it's really annoying.
Listening to music in 2.1. I want my music to be loud. Really loud!! Using the Logitech application I thought the volume was a bit to low. However you can adjust the volume if you are using the Winamp eq or download Equalify for the Spotify client. With these two Eqs you will be able to increase the volume without getting the sound distorted.
Conclusion
I highly recommend this headset. It's a great all around device which sounds great both in 2.1 and 7.1. Chatting thru Skype and other application works like a charm. The noise cancellation really does a great job.
Score 9 of 10
