Review : Top 5 Games of 2011 part 4

It's time for the 2nd place in my countdown of the best games of 2011 and it's no other then the titan of the FPS games.

 

Crysis 2

Planet Earth is in ruins and now the aliens have returned to hit humanity where it hurts — New York City. In Crysis 2, you will be outfitted with the combat-enhancing Nanosuit 2, allowing you to absorb devastating blows and delve into a flood of creatures not from this world. As you plunge into immersive multiplayer battles and take on intensely realistic AI, resurrect the world as you once knew it by battling the invaders that infest the Big Apple. As a super soldier, you must rage across the urban landscape of New York City to handle this Crysis before it's too late.

The Good

The graphics. I just loved Crysis and Crysis Warhead but I wanted to wait with the sequel until I bought a new computer that could meet Crysis 2 requirements. Once I bought I was just chocked how great it looked. I had never seen such graphics before. With incredible details and amazing environments. Still to this day I think Crysis 2 is the best looking game ever been made on PC.

Music and sound. Having Hans Zimmer (Composer of Batman, The Thin red line and Inception to mentioned some of the movies he's done) as a composer of the main theme for Crysis 2 I didn't expect anything else then that the music would be awesome in Crysis 2. I was right. It's amazing. Same goes for the FX sounds.

The gameplay. Crysis 2 still got the nanosuit capabilities as in earlier games. Some changes have been made. You now have all the different nano suit modes assigned to different keys which was much more effective. Everything runs smooth and the powers are just incredible.

The Lasting appeal. I got a few more hours then I usually get on FPS games. Normally it takes 5-10 hours to complete an FPS game. Crysis took about 10-15 hours.

The Bad.

The Hardware requirements. It goes with saying that a great looking game visually, demands a better hardware. This is truly a shame because all people out there needs to experience Crysis 2 at the highest setting possible.

Conclusion

Crysis 2 is just an incredible FPS game. Might be the best that ever been made. The graphics makes it such joy to play. It made me stop just for a second to watch the scenery. Crysis 2 has a great flow. It has a steady pace which divides this game from a think shooter. Instead there's hardcore demolition and destruction. All you need to think about is to use your nano suit wisely in different situations. If there are FPS freaks out there which I doubt there are who hasn't played Crysis 2, you need to buy it immediately...... trust me.
