At the moment I'm trying to achieve the ultimate laziness by using my computers and mobile phone. I want to use my stationary computer for download and I do not want to connect it to my TV in order to control it with a cordless mouse and keyboard. I will use my Macbook air and control the PC using Teamviewer remotely. But there is one problem. What if my PC is turned off? To achieve my laziness I want to start my PC without using the power button. Hell, it's about 4-5 steps of walking to reach my PC ;) The solution for my problems is PcAutoWaker.
The good
It works perfectly!!! You will however need to configure your network interface controller in Bios. You have to set the settings so Wake up on LAN is enabled. After you've done that you'll need your Mac address. To retrive it simply use the cmd tool. Run >> Cmd. Then type getmac in the "dos" window. Start PcAutoWaker and simply enter the info the app needs. Done!!
Multiple wake ups. You can add up to 5 units that will wake up at your command.
Auto wake up. You can set the app to auto wake up units the minute you connect to your own WIFI network. For instance my phone usually connects to my WIFI when i'm about to enter my building. My PC will then start automatically before I even have entered my apartment. LAZINESS GALORE!!! :D
It's free. A pro version is available that lets you use a widget.
The bad
It doesn't work on the Internet. If I would like to control my PC when i'm not at home and if the computer is turned off it's a no deal. Hopefully this feature will be added in the future.
Conclusion
Thanks to PcAutoWaker I have now achieved my ultimate laziness. I can now chill-out in bed and control the pc just the way I like it. Getting home from work and find my computer up and running is simply awesome :D
